Senior Works - Poet Commons

This guide shares information on how Whittier College seniors can deposit and archive their senior works into the Wardman Library's digital repository, Poet Commons. Using Poet Commons will provide digital preservation as well as worldwide exposure.

How to get started

As you work on your senior project, it is important to consider whether you would like to deposit into Poet Commons.  Its inclusion into our digital repository not only provides you with a stable location where you can share the work but it also shows the world the amazing scholarly output produced by Whittier College students.

Here are a few steps to prepare for the process:

  1. Contact Wardman Library librarians (reference@whittier.edu) if you have questions about the Poet Commons review process, the deposit process, usage data or any other questions.

  2. Discuss this process with your faculty advisor. Your faculty advisor must approve your work's inclusion into Poet Commons.  To gain their approval, they may require further work or adjustments be made to your senior project.  It is best to start this conversation early so you are best positioned during the process.
